How long does it take to wrap a car?
This depends on the type of vehicle being wrapped. Shape & size of parts are major factors. Some cars require more parts to be removed than others. But most importantly…we will spend as long as it takes for the best possible job.
How do you clean it?
Cleaning is easy; just as you would with a regular painted car. “WASH & WAX 2-in-1” products are ideal. Polishing is not necessary.
Vinyl wrap is degraded by prolonged exposure to sun and atmospheric pollutants, particularly on the horizontal surfaces such as bonnet, boot lid and roof. The more you keep the vehicle out of the sun or harsh weather conditions, the longer the life of the film.
Bonded surface contaminants such as bug splatter, bird droppings, tree sap or baked contaminants, should be soaked for several minutes with hot, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Do not use rough scrubbing or abrasive tools, which will scratch the film. Wash and rinse off all residue immediately. Do not use any abrasive polishes or cutting compounds.
Brush-type car washes are not recommended as they can abrade the film and cause edges to lift or chip, as well as dulling the film’s appearance. Brushless car washes are acceptable.
Wash the vehicle no less than once per fortnight. Although hand washing is the preferred cleaning method, pressure washing may be used under these conditions.
• Ensure the water pressure is kept low.
• Keep water temperature below 30°C.
• Use a spray nozzle with a wide angle spray pattern.
• Keep the nozzle at least 500 mm away from and perpendicular to the surface.
Wipe off fuel spills immediately to avoid degrading the vinyl and adhesive. Then wash, rinse and dry as soon as possible.
Vinyl wrap will inevitably deteriorate. Do not leave deteriorated vinyl wrap on your car.
Are full wraps restricted to just one colour or texture?
No, not even on the same panel. Different vinyl types can be joined or spliced on the same part. Partial wraps are also possible.
Are solid colour vinyls glossy?
Yes, gloss vinyl wraps do carry a high sheen. In fact, it is not uncommon that a wrapped area can be mistaken for a painted finish.
Is it road-legal?
In almost all cases road-legal in NSW when the Service NSW is notified (in the case of a full colour-change). No inspections/charges are required*.
